Dr. Wilder serves as professor of educational ministries in the Jack D. Terry School of Educational Ministries and associate provost for innovative learning. Prior to his service at Southwestern, Dr. Wilder served 18 years in various roles in teaching and administration in Christian Higher Education. He also brings to the classroom more than 30 years of pastoral ministry and church leadership experience.

Dr. Wilder is the co-author of The God Who Goes Before You: Pastoral Leadership as Christ-Centered Followership (B&H Academic, 2018) as well as the co-author of Transformission: The Making of Disciples through Short-term Missions (B&H, 2010) with Dr. Shane Parker. Additionally, he has contributed to numerous edited works such as Christian Formation (B&H, 2010), Trained in the Fear of God (Kregel Academic, 2011), Mapping Out Curriculum in Your Church, A Legacy of Religious Educators (B&H, 2012), and Perspectives on Your Child’s Education: Four Views (B&H, 2009). He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Professors in Christian Education and regularly attends and presents at their national conferences.

Dr. Wilder is married to Ginger, and they have three daughters.
