Dr. Pehlke serves as senior research professor of Old Testament at the Bonn (Germany) campus. Dr. Pehlke previously taught at several academic institutions in Europe.

Dr. Pehlke is the author of several books in German. He has written journal articles for Bibel und Gemeinde, Jarhbuch für Evagelikale Theologie, and the Southwestern Journal of Theology. He also contributed several articles to Dictionary of Daily Life in Biblical and Post-Biblical Antiquity (Hendrickson, 2015). In 2018 Dr. Pehlke received the Franz-Delitzsch sponsorship award for his book Israel: Daten, Fakten, Hintergründe, um das Heilige Land zu verstehen (Brunnen-Verlag, 2018).

Dr. Pehlke is a member of academic societies including, the Evangelical Theological Society, Institute of Biblical Research, the American Society of Overseas Research, and the Society of Biblical Literature.
