He was elected vice president for institutional administration in February 2022. He oversees finance, human resources, communications, campus technology, and events management in the Institutional Administration Division. He came to Southwestern Seminary in 2019 as vice president for strategic initiatives and chief of staff.

Adams came to Seminary Hill after five years of service at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. In his time at Southern Seminary, Adams was responsible for overseeing various aspects of digital communications, media relations, and marketing strategies. Other ministry experience includes five years of service as the college pastor at Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Before his service in Southern Baptist life, Adams spent several years working on political campaigns at both the state and federal level in Kentucky and Colorado.

A Lexington, Kentucky native, Adams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky. He is currently completing a Master of Arts degree at Southwestern Seminary.

Adams has been married to his wife Amanda since 2014. The couple has two children—Harper and Micah.
