Scholarships for Children of Current Missionaries

It is Southwestern’s desire to support current IMB and NAMB missionaries by providing a full tuition scholarship for the children of missionaries currently serving.

Overview

  • Undergraduate Degree – 100% tuition – Completion of one degree, Max 4 years
  • Master’s Degree – 100% tuition – Completion of one degree, Max 3 years

 

Requirements

  • Applicants must be a child of a currently serving missionary on assignment with the IMB or NAMB.
  • Applicant must be under 30 years of age to receive benefits.
  • Applicants must apply and submit verification of parents’ employment, with dates of service, annually.*
  • The student shall complete the application and submit the verification of parents employment prior to the first term of enrollment.
  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Applicant must be a full-time degree-seeking student.
  • Applicant must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the seminary.
  • If the applicant’s parents resign from the IMB or NAMB, the scholarship will be forfeited.

 

Scholarship Details

  • The scholarship is available for the completion of one undergraduate degree and one master’s level degree.
  • The scholarship shall cover tuition (no fees) up to 15 hours maximum per semester for the fall and spring semesters only.
  • This scholarship shall only cover classes taken on-campus.
  • This scholarship may not be combined with another SWBTS scholarship.
  • Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
  • The Missions scholarship covers only tuition and is applied after other scholarships and/or benefits.
  • The application deadline for the 2022-2023 academic year is July 1st. If you are an incoming student for the fall 2022, the deadline is August 30th. If you are an incoming student for the spring 2023, the deadline is January 31st.
